- Participate in preconstruction planning regarding project schedules and budgets.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage jobsite logistics.
- Work with the project team to develop a solid understanding of the project strategy and the commitments made to the Owner.
- Keep owners/architects informed of progress throughout the life of the project.
- Perform in-depth reviews of drawings and contract documents to become familiar with all details and requirements.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents to be able to plan ahead and anticipate potential problems before they arise.
- Communicate expectations and direction regarding schedules, construction methods, policies and standards with field personnel and project team.
- Facilitate weekly project progress and safety meetings with all subcontractor representatives and coordinate the upcoming week’s work.
- Develop, document and communicate the work plan regarding changes made in the field.
- Plans and executes field activities and provides technical assistance as required.
- Ensure all materials are properly tested according to specifications and ensure that all tests results are properly recorded.
- Supervise all field operations ensuring that the work is being done in accordance with the project strategy and construction documents, and that Subcontractor performance and quality of work meet standards for customer satisfaction, and adhere to scheduling guidelines.
- Manage and document employee and subcontractor problems or nonperformance (along with the project manager) through mentoring/training, back charges or other appropriate actions.
- Act as primary safety representative in the field and enforce quality control policies and compliance to OSHA safety standards.
- Maintain all project daily reports and documentation and follow up immediately with project managers to ensure issues are being resolved.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of supervisory construction management experience in commercial fields.
- Strong leadership skills; ability to manage and train assigned staff and to lead multiple teams at once.
- Extensive knowledge of scheduling, cost control and safety procedures.
- OSHA 30 Hour Certification.
- Demonstrate proficiency using a personal computer and company communication tools such as email, internet, MS Office Suite, iPhone, and ipad.
