We’re always trying to find ways to add value to job seekers and employers in the title of this podcast is a little bit different. It’s more on businesses. And so if you are a manager trying to grow your business, I have some really good information based on um, the last 10 years of experience that we have, uh, in, in running trinity. And so the title of this podcast is why 96% of businesses fail within the first 10 years. We have a lot of medical clinics especially, um, where they staff for all sorts of different positions. They staff for medical assistance, LPMs Ahrens, all, all over the board. But a lot of these medical clinics are smaller and they’re underneath the age of 10 years. I mean there, especially after the affordable care act, they sent a lot of doctors out of the individual practice and in underneath the umbrella of a lot of hospitals and big, big organizations of Medical Jobs Tulsa!

So we have a lot of medic medical offices opening up and they’re all underneath 10 years old. And so this topic I think can help a lot of our managers that are in medical clinics. So why 96% of these are likely going to fail in 10 years? Um, so I wrote this article for the Tulsa World and um, I was asked to give just a business insight. And so these were some of the things that I came up with. I wanted to go ahead and showcase in this article that Trinity’s been in business for 10 years and we’ve learned a lot during that time period. We’ve learned a lot of things the hard way. We’ve done a lot of really great things and made some great decisions in our company’s history and we have made some really poor decisions in some time and have done some things that I wished I could take back.

And I hope I never have to see again, um, or think about it again. But so during that journey we’ve learned so much and so I wanna I want to go ahead and share with you some of the, some of the things that we do here at Trinity and see if this might help either our medical clinics that are underneath 10 years or any of our businesses that we work with at Trinity that are underneath 10 years. So the first thing I always start out with statistics and that is 96% of businesses fail within 10 years according to inc magazine business failure is just a harsh reality. Um, 80% of businesses are not going to fail within their first year. So that’s a good number. And after being in business myself for over 10 years, I realized there are some specific reasons why businesses fail over and over again. And there are some reasons why they suck. The 4% succeed. And some of those things are very obvious. So I’ve got, I’ve got three things here that I think are really important for people to think about if they’re, if they’re wondering why their organization is not just thriving. The first thing that I learned is you better over deliver. By default, you’ve got to get on the right side of delivering your service or product to where it’s reliable, it’s high quality and it’s quick or efficient. In today’s marketplace you better be quick because in our industry, in the staffing industry there are four hundreds, no 200 staffing firms in the city of Tulsa. How crazy is that? According to research done by the Harvard business review, profit and growth are stimulated primarily by customer loyalty. Loyalty is a direct result of customers being satisfied. And I had a quote here that I, that I posted, um, render more service than you’re paid for and eventually you will be paid more for less services rendered rendered. That is, uh, that came from Napoleon Hill. And uh, he wrote the book, have a think and grow rich. He where he interviewed the top like multimillionaires in the entire nation and just created some of the habits that they did and wrote them down. The next thing, number two is your network is your net worth. Some people love it and some people really don’t like it, but one thing that every business expert will agree on is that the right, the right relationships matter not get, get me wrong, don’t get me wrong here. Not the majority of relationships matter. There are a lot of people that I notice that go in to try to uh, you know, do networking for the company and they feel as though if I have a thousand people that know who I am, then that’s gonna. So you got to become comfortable being uncomfortable while building relationships that may not produce immediate results, but you can see down the line that they’re important. And so you put some effort into them. And I really think that is a big way for you to, uh, to really win is to have the right relationships, spend time getting in front of the right people. It’s really important. Zig Ziglar said this, um, uh, you will get all you want in life if you help enough enough people, other people get what they want. And that is, that is something that my mentor, when I was a little kid told me about zig Ziglar and have me read all of this. And that was a really great quote that I had from him. Number three in the last thing here and then we’ll get going is integrity is never easy, but it makes the difference.

One of the things that I think puts trinity ahead of some other people, some other places. And I’m not saying that other staffing firms don’t have integrity. That’s not what I’m saying at all. I’m just saying that it’s extraordinarily important to me and we try our best to put our money where our mouth is because sometimes, and sometimes having integrity gets expensive when you’ve messed something up and it really matters how you handle it. So if you browse through a mission statement or a headline of any company’s website, it’s likely you’re going to see the words. Honesty, integrity, honesty, integrity, sorry. Integrity should be a given because we all know that actions speak louder than words, especially in today’s environment where we’re sold on something. Everywhere we go, doesn’t matter where we go, we’re going to get sold on. So it’s, we develop this thing in all of us to smell authenticity and it’s really easy to see when someone’s not being honest with you. But at the end of the day, you must ask yourself if you’re willing to deliver on your company’s promises and hit deadlines that you say you are. Meet the quality standards that you say you will and that you and, and, and meet what your customers expect. Integrity is really hard when the right thing is really expensive. So it’s really important to consider that. I have, uh, one last, uh, one last quote in here and it says, as I grow older, I pay attention to what men say. I just watch what they do. Andrew Carnegie said this and he said he was one of the world’s richest men who started working at just age 13, 12 hours a day, six days a week in a Pittsburgh cotton factory. And his starting wage was a dollar 20 a week, which is $35 a week adjusted for inflation, uh, by 2000 eighteens measures. So as I grow older, I pay attention to what men say and I just watch what they do. That’s a great quote. Integrity makes the difference.
