Which we’re always trying to find different ways to add value to job seekers and employers, Trinity. We’re a staffing firm and we work with other managers and business owners to create a pathway and a system for hiring only a players with our Tulsa Staffing service. Forget about this quantity thing. Let’s focus on quality for a little bit because when you get a players, a players stay longer in your company. They work one and a half times as hard as anybody else. And oftentimes they begin recruiting other a players into your company to work with them because a players like hanging out with other a players, your B and C level players. When you get a group of a players, they are going to push out your B and C level players working with an a player team is a difference maker. I’ve done it. I’m doing it here at Trinity.
And it makes a great difference in your satisfaction, what you do. That’s what we do to help people. And so, but this particular podcast, it’s talking to employees about how to show your boss, you’re ready for a promotion. What do you do? How do you get there? I’ve got some great ideas for you, but we always want to help people get what they want, get where they’re wanting to go. And so let’s talk about this real quick. You know, some people they’ve just been in the same job for some time, for a long time. And it’s just all too easy to assume that a promotion is going to come along every year or a bonus for time served.
But most people don’t understand what has to happen to be able to get promoted because we live in a culture where everything’s about me, focus on me, help me make it easier for me. I’m me. So you should make it easier for me. Have you seen how great I am? Have you looked at me? Have you looked at me? Look at me. Did I tell you about me? Social media has probably done this, but we have a culture where this is more of the thought process. So what I want to do with the best Tulsa Staffing around, I’m not wanting to hate on people that look at social media. You know, I just want to point out something where you can become one of the top paid people around and you can definitely put yourself in that promotion type area. And it’s easier now to do it than ever before, because everyone else around you is focused on themselves and getting themselves something that they’re not looking out how to help other people get what they want. And that’s what really brings promotion. So I want to try to talk with you about some things to think about so that you can make your, I mean, you can get yourself to be promotable first, make your boss obsolete. Isn’t it weird that the best way to get promoted is to make your boss’s job easier in the best way to do that is to make his or her job almost obsolete because you’re handling everything.
You’re not really trying to put your manager out of job. You’re, you’re allowing them to trust their work. And in turn, they can focus on new areas that the higher-ups really need to have, but all you have to do. It’s not just your boss. Just look around you and start seeing, alright, listen, that it doesn’t look like you’re enjoying yourself while you’re doing that. Is there any way that I can help you out with that with my work schedule and still get done? What I’m needing to get done? Just look for ways to help in areas that are struggle for other people. What, one of the things that I have put in my daily life is to help other people get what they want, just help other people get what they want every single day. And for me, but this is something personal for me to work with our great Tulsa Staffing options.
I try to do something every single day to add value to my wife, add value to people. And I value your wife that has what has helped me in, in my success. But here’s the thing. When I add value to other people, it says that if you add value to people first, they’re going to help you out. Well, sometimes they do, but not all the time. In fact, in my experience, the people that I’ve helped out that I honestly thought was going to come back and help me out later on. They didn’t, it was always these people that surprise me. But if you make a commitment to doing it every single day, if you help enough people get what they want, you’ll never have a problem getting what you want, but it’s probably not going to be coming from the people that you thought it was going to be coming from, but you’ve done it every day for a certain amount of time. So while I all you need, you need to, uh, try to, I mean, just from my own experience, I need to book an event downtown. Oh man, well, this guy I helped out a long time ago. He just volunteered it for me the other day, his entire building, he owns a building. Um, and I didn’t expect that, but it happened.
All I did was work out with the guy for a long time. And, but I enjoyed it big times. Great friendship, great friendships come from that. But it’s just the way that it works. Number two Projects from start to finish. When you start a project, don’t just ramp it up and get real excited about talking about it. Actually begin to implement, create a behavior that that puts work in and see it all the way through when people are going to notice. When you do it, organizations place a premium on individuals who followed through on tasks. If you can prove that you can consistently own projects from start to finish, you’re not just going to get promoted. You’re going to make yourself indispensable.
Going to be like the top of person. Have you ever seen someone quit in a company in the owner of the manager’s like, no, we don’t want to lose them. No, please don’t go help me. Listen. I know you got that offer. Let me, let me try to match it. Let me do better. Please stay with us. I mean, that’s what you want. You want to add so much value that they literally fight to make sure you don’t leave. That’s what you do when you own project from start to finish, keep positive attitude. Listen, this is so important. The people who typically get promoted, they keep their cool under stress. They also act as role model to everyone around them and they meet deadlines and they act relevant, intelligent. They ask intelligent questions that help clients be happier with the service they offer and when issues arise, they want to solve it and work it out to avoid future problems by learning from their mistakes. You want to be that kind of person. You got to keep a positive attitude by using our Tulsa Staffing.
Number five, you raise other team members performance, listen, you’re a players. If they don’t get what they’re wanting, they do everything they can to adjust and pivot and try to figure it out B and C level players. They’re going to have a laundry list of excuses on why didn’t work out because they’re going to keep doing the same things over and over again. Your A-players are going to adjust, move. Let’s figure it out. Hey, listen, we didn’t get it there. Well, we’ve got to figure out something else. So let’s figure it. Let’s figure it out. Your a players motivate people around them. You’re being C-level players. Listen, they need motivation for the top Tulsa Staffing around.
Uh, just if you you’ll know who you are in this adjust to being the person that motivates not the person that needs motivation, it’ll help you look for people who are completing their assignments and asking what’s going to be next. And then they begin to help their colleagues and step. Instead of stepping on them to climb up the ladder, you know, anyone who’s trying to promote leaders, they’re going to promote people on their team who raise the performance of everyone else around them. That’s what they’re going to do. Number six, make your boss aware that you want the promotion. You’ve got to let them know they can assume. And then also when you plant the idea in their head, they’re going to begin thinking about it and you don’t have to do it aggressively. You can just, you can go up to him, say, listen, I’ve looked at this company for good while, man.
I really would love to see myself be in that role over there someday. I don’t know what it’s going to take to get there. And if you know, please tell me, but listen, I’m going to be working to try to get there because that just seems great to me. And I think I can do it. Okay. All of a sudden, they’re going to begin thinking every time they think about that particular row, they’re going to be trying to see, Oh man, I think, I think he could, he could do that over there. Or she could do that. That’s what they’re going to be doing. You’re planting the idea. They can’t get it out of their head. Now, now the bad thing is you plant the idea and every time they look at it, you’re the top person. They’re like, man, there is no way I would, I would move that with our Tulsa staffing. They’re too this or too negative. They’re too emotional. They’re too. Whatever.
