You are listening to Trinity. Employment’s a player matchmaker podcast, starring your host and the co-founder of Trinity employment specialists. Cory Minter.
Hello. Welcome back to the A-player matchmakers. We’re always trying to find different ways to have a job seekers and employers in the title with our Tulsa Staffing. This particular podcast is choosing a career path in nine steps. Trinity. We are a staffing firm. We work specifically with managers in an effort to develop a process at hiring only a players and stopping this higher quantity. Top of an idea. And in doing that, what we do is we, we will help managers stop tolerating the top of behavior, where they spend 90% of their day dealing with unnecessary top of behavior from people and began to be able to actually work on what their job asked them to do. When you hire a players, you, you eliminate a lot of things and add a lot of great things. A player stay longer, they do one and a half times the work, and they also begin to recruit other a players into a company.
And in doing that, we save companies hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in what we also do is we try to add value to both job seekers and employers. This particular podcast is for employer is for employees. And it is, it is for new employees is for employees that is trying to find their career path, um, whether they’re using a staffing company or whether they are, you know, just trying to navigate it on their own. Um, these are some really great ideas to try to figure out how to move forward in your career. It’s hard to figure out how to do it for you with the best Tulsa Staffing. Took me a long time to figure it out. So what is a career path it’s, uh, made up of the positions that you hold as you grow in your particular field, you know, your first job or college you’re in college internship, whatever your degree is, it can Mark the beginning of your career path.
But as you gain additional knowledge and skills, you’re going to progress. Hopefully you’re going to move vertically or move into more advanced roles. You know, some employees move laterally into different roles as they begin to specialize, but it’s the pathway to get you where you’re wanting to go. How do you choose a career path? Well, first you need to start with the end in mind. Think about the end. Where do you want to end up? All right, now let’s create a pathway to that. You’ll want to outline your career goals, create a five to 10 year plan, discover your personality type, review your previous experience, compare job requirements to your education, you know, assess your current skill set and make decisions on that. Make note, as you go along your career path of your interest in what really energizes you and identify your core values and consider how you want to grow.
First thing is outlining your career goals. Well, how do you do that? You need to begin to ask yourself a series of questions with the best Tulsa Staffing right now. Like, what do I want for my career? What are my core values? What activities do I most enjoy? You know, either professionally or what do I enjoy my free time? What do I like doing? What are my interests? You’ll figure this out. As you go down the line in your, you know, in the jobs, but what are you really interested in? What are your strengths and aptitudes? You know, what, what are your soft skills that you are really good at using, you know, like talking to people. So what are hard skills like specific technical skill sets that you have to offer the market place and which one of those things do you enjoy? You need to try to figure out, do you want to specialize in a certain technical skill or take on, you know, a different kind of management role.
You want to think about the inverse and try to figure out how to get there. But once you answer questions like these and any others that are, uh, that are pertinent to you, you can better research, potential career opportunities, companies, career paths, and it’s, and it’s also important that you revisit these goals as you begin to grow. So that what, so you don’t do what many people do. And that is just let the wind take you wherever it might go. You know, whatever opportunity comes. Well, I guess I’ll just take that. No, you’re intentional. You’re intentional. You decide, and you take this thing where you want it to go. That way you don’t end up 20 years later in a miserable, miserable place. Wondering how in the world you got there. Oftentimes people don’t even realize that they’re getting miserable, but they’re, they, they happens because you’re operating most of your day in items that you could care less about really, or that just flat out drain you with the most amazing Tulsa Staffing services.
And not enough what we would call up arrows or green lights, where it’s things that energize you, not enough energizing and a lot of de energizing. When you do too much of that do, when you do too much de energizing or activities that don’t move you one way or another, you end up with what we would call a net negative, meaning that over time, you’re going to deplete of your energy and become extremely frustrated and it’ll happen so slowly. You don’t even know that you got there and we don’t want that to happen to you. So create a plan, follow it and be intentional. And you decide, don’t let just opportunities to decide where you go. Number two, you want to create a five and 10 year plan again, start with the in first and try to figure out, all right, what do I want to do in five years? Where would I like to see myself in five years? Where would I like to see myself in 10 years, create a logistical plan to try to get there and just begin thinking about it. Listen, the, your feet will never take you where your mind doesn’t go. First thinking about these things is really important. Number three, discover your personality top very impatient.
The top of it,
Personality traits that when you group them together and you begin to understand what they are that energizes you. When you begin to put effort into these areas, it explodes into success and gratification in what you’re doing. Um, there’s multiple methods of discovering your personality types. You know, many of which focus on your responses to different situations, different personality types.
And, you know,
You can naturally gravitate, uh, to different interests and develop different strengths, including careers. And you can learn this thing in some of these tests, you know, one of the most important tests or most popular test is a Myers Briggs indicator. There’s all sorts of different, uh, personality types that you, that you can get. But let me tell you this,
A decent understanding of your particular design, the way that God designed you and understanding those items that are green lights and up arrows for you, and what, what areas, what activities really doesn’t make a difference one way or another, and then knowing, well, those activities that drain you having this understanding is one of the greatest assets you could ever have with the best Tulsa Staffing. Warren buffet says this, listen, the difference between the successful and the super successful is that the super successful say no to almost everything, because they have an actual understanding and definition of what their particular design is. And when they know that they know what to say yes, to know what to say no to it’s super important, it changes the entire world and it, and it’ll change your success as well. Um, next thing is, is you compare job requirements to your decide is this thing for me, do I have the education for it?
Um, can I move forward in this field? Will I get blocked because of a lack of education? Um, these are some things that you can really begin to think about. And I’m going to take a break here and put a part two on this because I’m going to run out of time and I’ll try to keep these under 10 minutes, but if Trinity can help you in any way, we want to help people understand their one degree, this small little area of goodness, that if you can figure it out and navigate yourself into a career path that operates in those particular activities, that you’re just naturally good at that we know things explode.
