You are listening to Trinity, employment’s a player matchmaker podcast, storing your host and the cofounder of Trinity employment specialists, Cory Minter. Hello,
And welcome back to the A-player matchmakers, where we’re always trying to find different ways to add value to job seekers and employers. And the title of this podcast is really uniquely different. It is titled 10 things that successful people do who are actually happy, what they do differently. And I, I chose this topic because in the middle of watching people go around and go to networking events, not that we can go to that many anyway, because of this COVID craziness, but you watch people chasing money and what they think is success. And in the end, it’s, they’re getting there the wrong way. And only those that have achieved a certain amount of success are able to see through this window, um, of a healthy way of doing that and an unhealthy way of doing it. And the window of that, of walking through the success while being happy lane, the pathway is so narrow and you can get off of it so easily with our great Tulsa Medical Staffing services.
And I think it’s really important for every professional to think about, okay, we’re all pursuing success as professionals in this workplace. Are we doing it in a healthy way? And am I walking down that narrow pathway that leads to success while being happy and having a healthy perspective on things? And I, I just thought of, you know, several things that I’ve learned in, you know, things that I’ve read that I thought was really, really helpful. Um, you know, achievement rarely produces that sense of lasting happiness that you think it will. And same thing with money when you, when you make a certain amount of money, it wasn’t, you know, Jay Z, I think it was Jay Z. The great, great Jay Z wrote a song Mo money Mo problems. And that is very, it’s very insightful. You know, it’s a unique way of putting, it’s not a professional way of putting it, but it’s very insightful.
Um, but once you finally accomplish the goal, you’ve been chasing, uh, two new seem to pop up unexpectedly. And I think that happens for everyone that has a desire for success. And we long for these new achievements, because we quickly, you know, habitate to what we’ve already accomplished. And this habitation success is inevitable. It as it is frustrating and it’s, and it’s more powerful in our lives than we realize. Um, and the key to beating this pursuit of success and happiness, um, researchers call this enduring accomplishments. Um, and it it’s basically producing happiness. The, the form of pleasure, uh, of enduring accomplishments lasts long after the initial buzz about the top Tulsa Medical Staffing today, enduring accomplishments are so critical that they separate those who are successful and happy from those who are left wanting more. And it’s really important that we figured this out. Um, Reacher researchers from Harvard business school studied this phenomenon by interviewing and assessing professionals who had attained great success.
And the aim was to break down what those exceptional professionals did differently to achieve both long lasting and fulfillment’s full and fulfilling success. And so these are some of the things that they came up with and some of the things that I’ve experienced myself in my life, um, you know, uh, that they wanted a legacy, they pursued activities through what they could pass their values and knowledge on to others. Um, and when you think about creating a legacy, you want to create something that you’re proud of. When, when I started Trinity, I took all of the things that I wished that I had when I used to use staffing firms all the time and accompany when it comes to the best Tulsa Medical Staffing around. And I tried to begin to create those things and implement those things and do it in a way that my kids would be proud to take it over and that other people looking in on our company would look and see goodness.
And they wouldn’t see a company trying to take advantage of other employees. They would see, um, Trinity elevating those people around them, not, not pushing them down. Um, I tell my staff regularly, not all money is good money, meaning that when we’re doing the wrong thing or when we’re hurting people and not helping people, it’s not always good money say, you know, it goes with our employees just as well as it does our customers. When we’re hurting our customers to make money, that’s not good money. And when we’re employees in an, in an effort to make money, that’s not good money in my eyes, but that is one of the characteristics of those that are successful. Um, and those that are left wanting more. Um, the next thing is they’re passionate. Uh, an interesting story. Uh, Jane Goodall left her home in England, um, and moved to Tanzania at age 26 to begin studying chimpanzees.
It became her life’s work and Goodall devoted herself fully to this cause while inspiring other people to do the same and just see there, see her work as something that was remarkable, successful, happy people don’t just have interests. They have passions and they devote themselves completely to them. This is a very difficult thing for a lot of young people work entering the work force to find, in fact, I’ve, I’ve spoken to three people just in the last two or three weeks that their PA that they’re trying to find what they’re passionate about. I would venture to even say a majority, or at least half of professionals are probably asking themselves that, listen, I’m good at this including running my great Tulsa Medical Staffing, but in my passionate about it, what am I passionate about? But when you find that thing, it really just jumps up into a superpower that you have, the thing that you’re really great at the thing that you’re really passionate about.
Um, you’ll find you’re just naturally good at something that you’re passionate about. And you begin to see, um, an accelerant that comes from your energy and it doesn’t feel like it’s draining you, but, you know, you’re putting in not as much effort as other people around you seem to put in, but, um, but your results are double what theirs are, or you’re able to achieve the same results with not hardly any effort and when your passions and your God given gifts align, it really just seems like you’re pouring gasoline on a fire and it just takes off without much effort. Um, another characteristic of the, of the great, great people, successful people who also achieve, um, happiness is they swim against the current. There, there’s a reason that successful people and happy people tend to be
A little different and to truly to be the truly successful and happy you have to follow your passions and values, no matter the cost. Um, and if you, if you think about the, the, the successful, you’ll see this great, uh, uh, quote by Carl John, it says to be normal is the ideal aim of the six of the unsuccessful. And it really is true. You know, when, when you, when you look at some, some thing and you always want to say, well, am I normal? It it’s really easy for the average person to go well, that makes me feel really great if I’m normal, but the, the very successful, they know that if they are normal, there there’s no chance of them being exceptional at anything. Um, and I think most people are just comfortable with normal. And I’ve, don’t think that that’s necessarily a bad thing, especially when you, when you look at, you know, if you rank a players, B players and C players on your team whe it comes to the best Tulsa Medical Staffing by far, well, no one really wants to have a group of C players on a team, but B players tend to be very essential to a team of a players because they, they keep things steadily moving.
And, um, they’re, they’re not necessarily a harm to a lot of a lot of people, but that, but if, if you haven’t a desire to be, you know, extraordinary, well, you can’t aim at normal because it’s definitely the aim of the unsuccessful. Um, the, the next thing here that I have is they finish what they start. Um, it’s really easy to get energized and start something and not be able to finish it coming up with a great idea means absolutely nothing. If you don’t execute on that idea. Uh, I used to have a lot of friends when I was younger and we would sit around and we would talk about all these great ideas. And that was so energizing until I one day came to the conclusion that all I’m doing is talking, and I’m not doing anything about it. And now after implementing my idea and putting effort into it, now, if I’m talking to the same group of people, they’re still dreaming, but they’ve never ever done anything about it.
I’ve even had one friend who put all of his effort at creating the idea that he had. And all he had to do was just hit the go button and take off. And he just didn’t do it. And it’s always difficult for me to talk and dream with people that I know they’re, they’re just talking, they’re never going to do anything about it. And so if you’re going to have an idea, you’ve got to begin, you’ve got to begin the idea and then walk it through. Um, in I’ve learned this from many of my friends and even people that are in my family, that they start something and they don’t finish it, or they just never get started at all. And that is a really big deal.
