Welcome back to the, a player matchmakers, where we’re always trying to find different ways to add value to job seekers and employers. And the title is podcast is just, how do you get where you need to be in your career? How does that happen? How, why is it that there are certain people that are super successful and there are a lot of people that you can tell that they work hard, but they just never really get there. There are some, there are some reasons why now sometimes no question I want without our Tulsa Medical Staffing service, I want you to know. I’ve seen that there there’ve been certain people that have just had so many hard knocks that it kept them down, but most of the people that have achieved, unbelievable success have been knocked down way harder than anyone I’ve ever seen. Walt Disney had his first cartoon character stolen from him.

Steve jobs was kicked out of his own company. Um, the list goes on and on and on and on anyone of success that they have a store. They have a series on Netflix just showing entrepreneurs and all of the crazy things that they overcame. It’s really true. But one of the things I like to do, especially with young people in their career, trying to get in the right career path is to just talk about what does success actually look like? Because what the world is saying and what social media is saying about success, it’s just not the way it is. Social media, the world television, all of these different outlets tell you, man, success just comes when you’re cool. It comes when you’re suave success just comes with our Tulsa Medical Staffing. If you know how to just deal right with people and success just comes to certain people that have money, you know, success, won’t come to people if you don’t have these things.

That is so not true is so not true. Let me give you a quote from someone. These are just truths. This is a piece of success, and I want people to understand it. Thomas Edison had a really great quote and he says our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is to always just try one more time. Now, listen, this guy, I don’t know how many specific failures he had in developing the light bulb, but it was a high number of them. It really was high. Um, he had tried to develop the right kind of light bulb and he was in competition with two or three other electricians who had developed a different kind of light bulb in his top. A light bulb was what caught on, but that was a huge fight that was going on. And all sorts of craziness.

You should go read the story of Thomas Edison, but, and you would understand why he would say something as radical as your greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is to always try just one more time. Um, there was a, there’s a, a gentleman. I can’t remember his name, but he was one of the most popular and most successful geologists at the time. This is during the gold rush. And he had found, he had found some of the largest gold reserves in the United States for other companies. And he had decided he’s like he had been watching this one area and he thought this was going to be just an unbelievable goldmine. He just knew that the way that the tectonic plates had shifted, whatever it was that jaw geologists look at, he just knew that that was going to be a good place with our Tulsa Medical Staffing.

So he went out and he bought that claim. He bought, he bought it relatively cheap, but, and he went to go find gold on it. And he dug and he dug and he dug and he dug and he dug and he dug for about six months. And then he just gave up because he’s like, man, he didn’t, he didn’t find a things. He was like, man, I guess I must’ve been wrong. So he sold that claim and whoever it was that bought that claim found the largest gold reserve or the largest gold stash in United States history. Well over a billion dollars, but guess how far he dug until he found that first big, huge, massive piece of gold. He dug for about 12 inches. This poor guy stopped 12 inches short of being one of the richest people in the entire world. And he had found it, but he just stopped in a big piece of success for anyone that’s young out there out that is listening to something like this is that you’ve got to just the, the having grit is one of the most popular is one of the most important things you can have.

Listen, I say the same thing about the marriage I have with my wife, having grit is so very important, not quitting when things get tough, because that is likely going to be one of your greatest moments of learning is in the middle of that struggle. You know, someone had said not long ago that I’d heard, said, you know, every great moment that you have, there’s kind of a knot in your stomach of nervousness right before that moment of greatness. And when I, when I really sat back and thought about it, that that’s so very true mean every great moment that that ha that you’re uncomfortable. You’re out of your comfort zone. And you know, one of the books that I’d read, you’ve got to learn to become comfortable being uncomfortable. And that’s what Thomas Edison is talking about our great Tulsa Medical Staffing. Lou Holtz is a great book that I’d read not long ago, a highly recommended.

I can’t remember the name of it, but it’s Lou Holtz autobiography. He was the head coach for Notre Dame for years and years. He’s a legendary coach. Most players that played for him talk about the unbelievable impact that he had on their lives. And they’re there aren’t too many people that you won’t notice that had played or that you will find that had played for him that do not have wonderful things to say about him, but he says, I think everyone should experience defeat. At least once during their career, you learn a lot from it. Wisdom comes from your, from your failures. I had one of our recruiters in here the other day and she’s relatively new and she made a mistake. And, um, and it, it really, the mistake was us in our training. We, we didn’t go over it properly in my opinion, the way that we could have and should have.

And so there was a small little mistake that was made. She’s like, I’m so sorry. We’re like, listen, I just, I really just want you to give yourself permission to fail and to make mistakes and just to make them faster. And she’s like, what? And I said, yeah, I want you to fail faster. And she’s like, why, why would you say that? And I was like, because if you decide that you’re going to learn something off of every failure, that’s how we’re going to get you trained faster. And right now we are just exploding on the [inaudible]. It’s like this resurgence that’s happened after COVID here in Oklahoma. And, uh, man, we’re just busting at the seams. And so we’re needing her to get, get up to speed quickly. And we’re, you know, we, we have one of our recruiters out because of, uh, because of a death in the family with the top Tulsa Medical Staffing.

And so we really just needed her help. And I was like, well, let’s, let’s fail faster to get you there faster. And after she understood why I was saying what I said, she understood a little bit better, but I think she was looking at me, uh, crossword crossways going, why would you say that George Lucas, the, uh, the, uh, developer of star Wars, um, which I was developing an entire star Wars set last night with one of my friends, Arthur, and, uh, I, I don’t even like star Wars, but here he loves it. Here’s a quote from George Lucas. Dreams are extremely important. You can’t do it unless you can imagine it. I want, I want you to know that one of the most important pieces of advice I was given came from a guy who’s now, uh, I think he’s a state Congressman. Uh, now he’s a state representative.

And he had told me a long time ago, I’d asked him what, what, what is it that you know, in your career now that you wish you knew when you were my age? And this is what he said, it was really changed me a lot. He said a mentor man told me to imagine what I wanted. And he said, when I did that, I was able to accomplish everything. So he said, I always told myself, you’re gonna, you’re going to be a multimillionaire. You’re gonna own multiple companies. And you’re going to be a great father. And those that’s, those are the three things that he told. He told himself. After that, I began every single day, imagining myself, where I wanted to be when it comes to our Tulsa Medical Staffing. I imagine the house that I would live in, I imagine the business that I would run, I imagined the top of father.

I would become, I imagined really my bank account and where, where it was going to be. I want you guys to know that I’ve surpassed every single thing that I imagined that day. And at the time I did not think it would ever be possible. Your imagination is one of the most powerful tools that you have as a human being. And when you begin to imagine it, you begin to believe it, it gets into your subconscious system and you just slowly become what you imagine. And it’s one of the most amazing things ever, but you have to commit to it every single day. He said that he did it when he did it his morning run. I did it. I know it’s weird, but I imagined this entire thing while I was in the shower, I had nothing better to do. And I would just dream.

I would dream about what I was going to become. I would dream about me speaking to other people whenever I do, you know, I drink everything I dream has come true. It’s unbelievable.
