You are listening to Trinity employment’s, a player matchmaker podcast starring your host and the cofounder of Trinity employment specialists, Cory Minter. Hello and welcome back to the player matchmakers where we’re always trying to find different ways to add value to job seekers and employers. And the title of this podcast is taking initiatives. It’ll make a really big difference. And so what we’re wanting to try to address here is it doesn’t matter if you’re an employee or an employer, one of the biggest differentiators between the most successful, um, whether you’re an employee or an entrepreneur or an employer is just this, just this mindset of taking Employment Agency Tulsa initiative and going for it, giving it your all, making a commitment to being the very best that you can be and putting action behind it. I think it’s so important, especially right now in the employment in the employment market that we’re in because for employees taking initiative right now because the opportunities that are available because the shortage of workers, it’s a great opportunity to get your dream career or a job that you never thought would be possible because of the opportunities that are out there. And if you’re an employee or I’m sorry if you’re an employer and a manager in your own company or a manager in someone else’s company, taking initiative is really how you climb the ladder. That’s just what successful people do. They have for years. Really, if you think about it, that is why America’s so great.
It’s because Americans have always been known to take initiative. You know, I go to Brazil at least twice a year. I think I’ll just go once this year and then I’m going to Israel later in the year. But I always make it a point to go out there and, and I am a part of a mission, uh, group that we go out and do some really, really just amazing things in Brazil. But one of the things that Employment Agency Tulsa, um, a good friend of mine in Brazil was talking about the other day is that like, you know, there’s a big difference between Brazilians and Americans. And I was like, Oh, really? What, what is it? I’m always curious about their viewpoint. And they said, Americans just push and they just make things happen. And you know, you’ll notice this if you went out and saw the culture in Brazil, and I’m not trying to talk bad in Brazil, the Brazilian people are some of the just most wonderful people that I’ve ever met in life. But when it comes to getting things done, a lot of it comes back to their history when they were overtaken, um, by the Portuguese and they were, uh, they were really just oppressed and not given opportunity unless the government told them they could have it. And so it created a culture there that I, I understand it, but that’s why America’s so great is because we push and we make things happen. I know that as an entrepreneur if I don’t push, nothing will happen. But a lot of people who are employees and managers,, they sometimes can rely on the company pushing in there and them not pushing things to be better. But taking initiative is such a big thing. So I want to talk about that real quick, but before we get started, um, the engagement figures, um, our stand about this is that 31.5% of employees are engaged, 51% are not engaged and 17.5% of actively are actively disengaged according to the department of labor.
How interesting. And although the numbers are improving in recent years, engagement has risen steadily and it’s jumping a little bit, but it’s still very obvious that something is very broken. So the number one point here is one of the key disadvantage dis, I’m sorry, distinguishing marks that I see in successful leaders all over the world. This area is just the willingness to take the Employment Agency Tulsa initiative. That’s what I was talking about. I’ve got a story here of um, a legendary New York ad man in the forties and 50s. His name was Lester Wunderman and he was fired from his job and Wunderman got up the next morning and went back to work anyway without pay. Now, this would never happen today because we’ve got locks on the doors and you’ve got to have a key card to get in.But the head of the agency, max sacrum ignored him for like a month
and he just kept going to work, kept going to work, kept showing up, and finally, max walked into his office saying, okay, you win. He said, I never saw a man who wanted a job more than he wanted money. We got to have you here now though, that is one of the, you know, a great story from the forties and 50s you hear these stories all the time about people doing something really kind of outrageously extraordinary and it’s just neat to hear stories like that where you just willed it through. I mean, it’s a feel-good story, but listen to this. In this particular case, the gentleman that came to work, Wunderman, went on to become one of the most successful leaders in the history of advertising the entire industry and is widely regarded as the father of direct marketing. And so here’s what we should think about. Oftentimes, the Employment Agency Tulsa initiative requires a bold step from you today so that you can reach your potential tomorrow. Um, uh, oh, what, what is the guy that, uh, that there’s, there’s a book that I, that I read not long ago and um, um, Dave Ramsey, that’s who, that’s who wrote the book, um, about money and finances and he said, you live like today. You live like no one else today so you can live like no one else tomorrow. And I implemented that a long time ago. Me and my wife I did. And that right there is the only reason we had enough money to even start this company cause it took a good deal of money and effort to get this company off the ground. We’ve been in business for 10 years now as a staffing firm. How amazing is Employment Agency Tulsa. So you want to consider it. The next thing is you want to consider these things. Um, as you seek to become a better leader who knows how to take initiative, the first thing is you need to know what you want. Napoleon Hill said this, the starting point of all achievement is the desire and the only way you’ll be able to recognize opportunity when it comes is to know what you want.
